What is a Will?

A Will is the legal document that describes how you wish your assets to be distributed upon your death. A Will also allows you to choose an Executor who will be responsible for making sure your wishes are met.

Many people die without a Will. The Public Trustee actively encourages every West Australian over the age of 18 to have a current and valid will.

The Public Trustee drafts Wills for people who are domiciled in Western Australia. To view our fees for drafting a Will, refer to Your Last Will and Testament brochure.

To draft your Will, we are required to meet with you personally when taking your instructions and signing your Will.

If you live outside a 50km radius of Perth, you are eligible to make a telephone Will appointment. Contact us on 1300 746 116 to arrange for us to send you a letter and a package detailing the infromation we require from you prior to a telephone Will appointment being booked for you.
